ABOUT THE FILM
Colour Me challenges viewers to reexamine how they think about race. We follow motivational speaker Anthony McLean as he runs a groundbreaking mentorship program for black teens in Brampton, the most demographically changing Canadian city. While challenging his students to analyse and abandon the stereotypes they have accepted, Anthony is forced to critically examine his own identity.

ABOUT THE TEAM
TAZA Media is a Toronto-based web, film, television and commercial production company founded in 2009 by Sherien Barsoum. Most recently, TAZA explored critical issues with a fresh lens in Brampton, Ontario, by following six black high school students during a transformative mentorship program. An award-winning team comprised of editor James Blokland (Nurse, Fighter, Boy), cinematographer John M. Tran (Waterlife), and composer John Welsman (The Sacred Balance) was assembled to share these teens’ compelling stories. The result is COLOUR ME, TAZA Media’s first full-length documentary feature. This unique portrayal of Black Canadians’ struggle for identity has already generated significant buzz and acclaim from the Toronto Arts Council and Shaw Media-HotDocs.
